“9-1-1” Officially Renewed For Season 2 At FOX

FOX orders another season of the emergency drama.

It took only two episodes for “9-1-1” to secure a second season from FOX.

The network confirmed the season two renewal in a Tuesday afternoon announcement.

“With a bold concept, award-winning stars and a flawless execution, Ryan [Murphy], Brad [Falchuk] and Tim [Minear] have done it again,” said FOX’s Dana Walden and Gary Newman in a statement.
“They have tapped into the cultural zeitgeist and reimagined the procedural as only they could, bringing it to life with a dream team of actors led by Angela, Peter and Connie.

“This is storytelling at its best and we’re so pleased that it’s resonated with our audience. We’d like to thank everyone involved with this production for their stellar work, and we look forward to another thrilling season of 9-1-1.”

The January 3 premiere of “9-1-1” impressively built on its “The X-Files” lead-in — and ranked as the night’s #1 show among adults 18-49.

The second episode fell, but it still markedly outperformed its lead-in — and still won its timeslot.

The “9-1-1” premiere also delivered promising multi-platform results. With its encore and multi-platform viewings included, the first episode attracted a live+7 audience of 15 million.
