“Rise” Debuts On March 13; NBC Shares Photos From Premiere Episode
NBC offers a first look at its “heartening” new drama.
Fans of writer-director Jason Katims — and his dramas “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood” — will want to circle March 13 on their calendars.
Katims’ new series “Rise” debuts that night at 10-11PM ET. It will move to the 9PM hour in subsequent weeks.
“When dedicated teacher and family man Lou Mazzuchelli (Josh Radnor) sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theater department, he galvanizes not only the faculty and students but the entire working-class town,” says NBC’s regarding the “heartening” new drama.
It is based on a true story.
In addition to Radnor, the cast features Marley Shelton, Rarmian Newton, Auli’i Cravalho, Damon J. Gillespie, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joseph Tippett, Shirley Rumierk and Rosie Perez.
Ahead of the March premiere, NBC shared production photos from the pilot episode. Those follow:
