The 2018 Golden Globe Awards ceremony drew fewer viewers than the 2017 edition, but tears are doubtfully being shed.
The broadcast still fared very well by conventional TV standards. It also ranked as the most-watched primetime entertainment show (non-sports) since the 2017 Academy Awards.
According to time-adjusted data shared by NBC, the broadcast drew a 5.0 adults 18-49 rating. It averaged 19.0 million overall viewers.
Last year’s show drew a 5.6 in the demo and 20.0 million in overall viewership.
Seth Meyers hosted Sunday’s broadcast, which was the first major awards show to air in the aftermath of the recent, highly publicized string of sexual assault stories.
