Initial sales projections have emerged for the new Eminem and G-Eazy albums.
Based on opening day sales data, Hits Daily Double expects Eminem’s “Revival” to sell about 190-210,000 pure US copies this week. The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should yield a first-week consumption tally in the 280-300,000 range.
The pure sales and consumption numbers should be enough for #1 on the Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts, respectively.
G-Eazy’s “The Beautiful & Damned” is meanwhile set to sell 85-95,000 pure first-week copies. With TEA and SEA included, it will likely post a consumption tally in the 135-155,000 range.
“Revival” is Eminem’s first album since “The Marshall Mathers LP 2.” That 2013 release sold 792K pure first-week copies in the US (at the time, Billboard did not incorporate TEA and SEA into its album charts).
“The Beautiful & Damned” is the follow-up to “When It’s Dark Out,” which debuted with 103K pure copies and 132K total first-week units.
