First Look: “This Is Us” Returns With “The Fifth Wheel” On January 9 (Update)
NBC offers a first-look at the midseason “This Is Us” premiere.
Update: The midseason premiere of “This Is Us” was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 2, but NBC now confirms that it will air on January 9.

NBC will not be airing a new episode of “This Is Us” until early January.
Very early January.
Entitled “The Fifth Wheel,” the midseason premiere airs on January 2.
NBC has not yet offered an official synopsis, but it is hard to imagine the episode not at least partially addressing the events of the November 28 fall finale. That broadcast – which concluded a three-episode arc involving Kevin, Kate and Randall – ended with Kevin being arrested for a DUI (with Tess in the car).
