Disturbed’s “The Sound Of Silence” Reaches 3x Platinum In United States

The cover crosses 3 million in confirmed US units.

Disturbed’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound Of Silence” recently received a new multi-platinum certification in the United States.

According to the RIAA, “The Sound Of Silence” reached triple platinum on November 29, 2017.

The award confirms 3 million units, with each unit equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

In addition to spending multiple weeks atop the Mediabase active rock airplay chart, “The Sound Of Silence” peaked at #42 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Mainstream/active rock singles rarely even chart on the Hot 100 in today’s music climate, let alone crack the Top 50.
