BTS, Desiigner & Steve Aoki’s “MIC Drop” Received Opening Day Airplay At Pop Radio

The biggest support came in Oklahoma City, Chattanooga and San Diego.

The Steve Aoki remix of BTS’ “MIC Drop (featuring Desiigner)” premiered Friday — and received ample support from US music buyers. It quickly shot to #1 on the US iTunes sales chart (a position it maintains as of press time at 2:15PM Saturday).

It also received opening day support from some US pop radio stations.

According to Mediabase, Oklahoma City’s KJ103 had played the song 23 times by the end of Friday.

Chattanooga’s Kiss 103.7 offered 18 first-day spins, while San Diego’s Channel 933 played “MIC Drop” 10 times.

The support from KJ103 and Kiss 103.7 is hardly surprising. Along with Radio Disney, they were the biggest US supporters of previous BTS release “DNA.”

— Other opening day support came from Tampa’s Hot 101.5 (3 plays) and Myrtle Beach’s Mix 97.7 (2 spins).
