Taylor Swift’s “New Year’s Day” Receiving Country Radio Airplay In Chicago, St. Louis, More

The track that closes “reputation” is beginning to receive airplay at country radio.

Taylor Swift’s “reputation” may be a pop album overall, but one of the tracks has been garnering attention at the country format she once called home.

Big Machine has not yet confirmed plans for a formal push, but it did make “New Year’s Day” available to country radio programmers this week.

Some stations have begun to play the song.

According to Mediabase, Chicago’s US99 played “New Year’s Day” a whopping 22 times during the period between November 9-15.

St. Louis’ 93.7 The Bull offered 5 spins within that window, while Houston’s 93q and Oklahoma City’s 101.9 The Twister each played the song twice.

— “New Year’s Day” is the closing track on Swift’s 15-song “reputation.”

It has also received release week attention at pop and hot adult contemporary radio, which have become Swift’s core formats in recent years.
