Competition from the World Series was evidently not the sole reason for last week’s “The Walking Dead” ratings decline.
Despite not facing that form of competition, this week’s episode actually suffered week-over-week losses in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “TWD” drew a 3.79 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 8.52 million overall viewers.
The numbers trail the 3.99 rating and 8.92 million viewer mark drawn by last week’s episode.
The declines do not, however, remove “The Walking Dead” from the top of the cable heap. It was by far Sunday’s top cable original in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.
It, moreover, remains television’s #1 active scripted series in adults 18-49.
— “TWD” led into “Talking Dead,” which drew a 1.30 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 3.12 million viewers.
