Ratings: “This Is Us” Falls From Season Premiere, Still Dominates Tuesday

“This Is Us” took a non-trivial hit from last week’s premiere, but it still won the night in adults 18-49.

On the one hand, Tuesday’s “This Is Us” fell by more than 20% from last week’s season premiere.

On the other hand, it still ranked as the night’s top show in adults 18-49. It also posted its best rating for a non-season premiere or finale.

According to fast national data shared by NBC, “This Is Us” drew a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 10.92 million overall viewers.

Last week’s episode drew a 3.9 in the demo and 12.94 million in viewership.

Despite the decline, the 3.1 rating convincingly ranks as the night’s best in adults 18-49. Lead-in “The Voice,” the number two performer (and only another show to even break a 2.0), markedly trailed with a 2.2.

(“The Voice” meanwhile drew 10.22 million in overall viewership).

“This Is Us” was meanwhile the night’s #2 program in overall viewers. Only older-skewing “NCIS” (13.20 million) drew a better mark in that column.

— In addition to “The Voice” and “This Is Us,” NBC’s Tuesday lineup included “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders.” This week’s episode drew a 1.2 rating and 5.06 million viewers; the numbers trail the 1.6 rating and 6.06 million viewer mark drawn by last week’s premiere.
