“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” Conquers US Weekend Box Office; “LEGO Ninjago Movie” Takes #3

“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” earns the top spot on the US weekend box office chart.

“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” claims #1 in its opening weekend at the US box office.

The sequel earned an estimated $39.0 million this weekend. The tally, which narrowly tops the $36.2 million bow for 2015’s “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” gives “Golden Circle” a $9.0 million lead over this weekend’s #2 film.

“It,” that #2 film, added $30.0 million to its haul. Its cumulative total now stands at $266.3 million.

“The LEGO Ninjago Movie” debuts at #3 with an unspectacular $21.2 million, while “American Assassin” falls to #4 with $6.3 million (cume now $26.2 million).

“Home Again” concurrently falls one spot to #5; it added $3.3 million in weekend receipts (cume now $22.3 million).

— In addition to “Kingsman” and “LEGO Ninjago,” this weekend welcomed a wide new release in “Friend Request.” It took #7 with $2.4 million.
