Handmaid’s Tale’s Ann Dowd Wins Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama

Ann Dowd takes home the Supporting Actress Emmy for her work in “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Ann Dowd’s work in “The Leftovers” earned her a Guest Actress in a Drama Series nomination at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys. She did not win.

Her work in “The Handmaid’s Tale” yielded a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at tonight’s 69th Primetime Emmys ceremony.

She did win.

Dowd won the coveted Supporting Actress in a Drama Award, beating out fellow nominees Uzo Aduba, Millie Bobby Brown, Chrissy Metz, Thandie Newton, and Samira Wiley.
