Niall Horan’s “Too Much To Ask” Scores Early Pop Radio Airplay In SF, New York, Philly

As “Slow Hands” approaches #1, some pop stations are beginning to spin the follow-up.

Niall Horan’s “Too Much To Ask” arrived late Thursday/early Friday. By the end of Friday, some major market pop stations had played the song.

According to Mediabase, San Francisco’s WiLD 94.9 was the top opening day supporter. It had played “Too Much To Ask” 7 times by the close of tracking Friday.

New York’s Z100 and Philadelphia’s Q102 each played the song 4 times.

Several other stations — including Nashville’s The River, Salt Lake City’s Mix 105.1, and New Orleans’ B97 — played the song twice or once on Friday.

“Too Much To Ask” is the follow-up to Horan’s “Slow Hands,” which will move up to #2 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio chart. It has a legitimate chance of reaching #1 next week.

Formal promotion for “Too Much To Ask” will presumably begin once “Slow Hands” has hit that pinnacle position.
