Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” has taken the lead in the race for #1 on this week’s Mediabase urban radio airplay chart.
The breakthrough hit received 2,195 spins during the first three days of the August 27-September 2 tracking week. Up 9.1% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Bodak Yellow” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.
Yo Gotti’s “Rake It Up (featuring Nicki Minaj),” which was last week’s #1 song, is #2 on the current building chart. It received 2,179 plays during the aforementioned three-day window.
As it only maintains a 16-spin lead, it is too early to guarantee a #1 finish for “Bodak Yellow.”
The odds do favor such an outcome, however. “Bodak Yellow” has considerably more momentum; it is up 9.1% over last week, while “Rake It Up” is only up 2.9%.
If they maintain their current trajectories, “Bodak Yellow” will expand its lead in the coming days.
The final chart will arrive on Sunday.
