This week’s US albums race will likely yield a split-chart scenario.
Queens Of The Stone Age’s “Villains” is the current frontrunner on the pure album sales front. Lil Uzi Vert’s “Luv Is Rage 2,” however, looks set to post a markedly greater overall consumption total.
According to Hits Daily Double, “Villains” is on track to shift about 50-55,000 pure US copies this week. No other album is expected to break 40,000.
The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500), however, tips the scale in favor of the Lil Uzi Vert album. While it is only expected to sell 25-28,000 pure copies, the TEA and SEA units may lift its first-week consumption total to 110-120,000.
“Villains,” on the other hand, is expected to post 55-60,000 in overall consumption. It is certain to trail “Luv Is Rage 2” on that front, and it may also debut below XXXTentacion’s “17” (projected for 65-70,000 units, with 15-18K coming from pure sales).
Pure sales figures inform placement on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. Consumption drives the Billboard 200.
