Hot 100: Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee & Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” Ties Record With 16th Week At #1

“One Sweet Day” now shares its Hot 100 record with “Despacito.”

Making good on early predictions, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito (featuring Justin Bieber)” retains the #1 spot on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

In doing so, “Despacito” scores a sixteenth week on top — and ties the record for longest reign in Hot 100 history.

Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men’s 90s hit “One Sweet Day” also spent sixteen weeks at #1.

With Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” set to takeover #1, “Despacito” will not be able to break the record next week. With activity quickly fading, “Despacito” will also have a tough time returning to #1 on a subsequent chart.

But while a 17th week may be out of the question, the 16th week is official.

10) Yo Gotti – Rake It Up ft. Nicki Minaj (+14)
