Justin Bieber & BloodPop’s “Friends” Received 464 First-Day Spins At Pop Radio

“Friends” had a solid opening day at pop radio.

Justin Bieber & BloodPop’s “Friends” was issued to pop radio at noon ET Thursday.

By the end of the day, it had amassed nearly 500 plays at the format.

According to Mediabase, “Friends” received 464 first-day spins. It received particularly heavy support from a handful of iHeartMedia and CBS stations, including Los Angeles’ 102.7 KIIS FM (15 spins), Los Angeles’ 97.1 AMP (15 spins), San Francisco’s WiLD 94.9 (15 spins), and San Diego’s Channel 933 (15 spins).

The tally positions “Friends” at #44 on Mediabase’s building pop chart, which ranks songs based on the first five days of the August 13-19 tracking week.

It is hard to know exactly how many spins “Friends” will receive on Friday and Saturday, but it is hard to imagine it will fall out of the format’s Top 50. It may very well move higher by the time the chart goes final.
