Miley Cyrus Addresses Teen Choice Absence, Confirms New Single “Younger Now” For August 18

In a note about missing Teen Choice 2017, Miley Cyrus announces plans to release a new single and video.

In its marketing for the show, FOX touted that Miley Cyrus would be receiving the “Ultimate Choice Award” at the 2017 Teen Choice ceremony.

Sunday evening, word emerged that she would not be appearing.

Shortly before the conclusion of the broadcast, Cyrus addressed her absence in an Instagram post. She also confirmed that her new single (and album title track) “Younger Now” will be arriving on August 18.

The accompanying video will also debut on that date.

“I want to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart for presenting me with #TheUltimateChoiceAward,” wrote Cyrus. “I am beyond bummed I couldn’t make it to the show as I had every intention of being there to accept and celebrate this honor!

“I created an unrealistic schedule for myself which leads me to this announcement! My new single / music video #YoungerNow will be dropping this Friday , Aug 18th & I am sooooooo EXCITED to share it with all of you!”

“Younger Now” will be the follow-up to Cyrus’ “Malibu.”
