Freeform’s “Famous In Love” Renewed For Season Two

Freeform orders another round of “Famous In Love.”

Freeform has officially ordered a second season of “Famous In Love.”

The cast shared the good news in a Facebook Live Chat on Thursday. Freeform subsequently issued a formal announcement.

“We’re so proud to be continuing our relationship with Marlene King and this incredibly talented cast,” said Freeform’s Karey Burke. “‘Famous in Love’ has resonated with nearly 30 million fans across the U.S. and we couldn’t be happier to deliver another season of this addictive series.”

Echoing its roll-out strategy for “Beyond,” Freeform made all first-season episodes of “Famous In Love” available for streaming following the premiere.

The move seemingly had a detrimental impact on traditional TV viewership (“Famous In Love” posted weak live+same-day TV ratings) but helped “Famous In Love” connect with those who have grown accustomed to “binge watching” in the digital age.

According to Freeform, the show “has generated nearly 29 million total views across digital and linear platforms to date, and is the network’s No. 1 current original series in Women 18-34.”
