Olivia O’Brien’s “RIP” Issued To Pop Radio; Officially Impacts On August 15

“RIP” will be formally promoted at pop radio.

Olivia O’Brien released her new single “RIP” — and the accompanying video — last week.

Said song was just issued to pop radio, and Island confirms that a formal promotional campaign will begin next month.

Per an official note from the label, “RIP” will impact pop radio in conjunction with the August 15 add board.

“RIP” has amassed over 500,000 video views since last week’s premiere. It also received praise from Headline Planet’s Brian Cantor, who called the song a “big step in the right direction” for an artist he believes has “crazy star potential.”

Island is billing “RIP” as the official follow-up to “i hate u, i love u.” The multi-platinum single, which gives lead credit to gnash and featured credit to O’Brien, reached the Top 5 at pop radio late last year. It boasts nearly 550 million Spotify streams and nearly 300 million YouTube video views.
