HBO’s “Westworld” Makes Big Splash In Emmy Nominations Announcement

“Game Of Thrones” wasn’t eligible, but “Westworld” kept HBO firmly in the mix on the drama side.

“Game Of Thrones,” the reigning Emmy winner for Outstanding Drama Series, was not eligible for a nomination at the 2017 Primetime Emmys.

HBO does, however, have a drama series in the mix for this year’s big awards.

“Westworld” picked up a total of 22 nominations, including nods in many of the show’s biggest categories. It tied “Saturday Night Live” for most nods.

In addition to Outstanding Drama Series, “Westworld” is up for Outstanding Actor in a Drama (Anthony Hopkins), Lead Actress in a Drama (Evan Rachel Wood), Supporting Actor in a Drama (Jeffrey Wright), Supporting Actress in a Drama (Thandie Newton).

It also picked up nominations in a variety of technical and creative categories. The full list follows:
