Ratings: “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly” Premiere Beats “60 Minutes” Re-Run, Doesn’t Wow

Ratings are in for the first episode of “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly.”

NBC’s “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly” may have beaten a re-run of timeslot rival “60 Minutes” in the key adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 demographics, but it was not a smash hit performer.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Megyn Kelly” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, a 1.2 adults 25-54 rating and an average of 6.14 million overall viewers.

CBS’ “60 Minutes” encore drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.9 adults 25-54 rating and 6.59 million viewers in the same 7-8PM timeslot.

In addition to beating this Sunday’s “60 Minutes” re-run “Megyn Kelly” offered year-over-year timeslot improvement for NBC. Airing on the same night a year ago, “Dateline” drew a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.9 adults 25-54 rating and 4.07 million viewers in the 7-8PM hour.

In short, the numbers are solid by typical newsmagazine standards — but they do not reflect a particularly special degree of interest.

Sunday’s “Megyn Kelly” featured a high-profile interview with Vladimir Putin.
