Dierks Bentley’s “Black” Reaches #1 At Country Radio

“Black” takes the top spot on this week’s Mediabase country radio singles chart.

Dierks Bentley’s “Black” edges Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know” for #1 on this week’s Mediabase country radio singles chart.

Up two places from last week’s position, “Black” seizes the throne from Luke Combs’ “Hurricane.” Combs’ tune falls to #3 on this week’s chart, while the aforementioned “In Case You Didn’t Know” holds at #2.

“Black” is the title track — and third straight #1 — from Bentley’s 2016 album. Previous singles “Somewhere On A Beach” and “Different For Girls (featuring Elle King)” also topped the chart.

Not simply the leader in chart points, “Black” ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s most played song for the May 21-27 tracking week. It received 8,803 spins, besting last week’s mark by 829.

“In Case You Didn’t Know,” however, reached a larger audience. It received 58.668 million audience impressions, while “Black” garnered 57.570 million.

Darius Rucker’s “If I Told You” (#4, +1) and Dan + Shay’s “How Not To” (#5, +1) complete this week’s Top 5.
