Update: Earlier this week, Headline Planet broke the news that Katy Perry would be appearing for an interview on the May 16 “Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
The official “Ellen” website just confirmed the story.
“Ellen will be all eyes and ears when one of music’s most loved singers drops in for a chat about her highly anticipated new album,” says the website in its preview for the May 16 episode.
Perry is thus far the only guest listed for the episode.

Katy Perry is scheduled to play the May 20 “Saturday Night Live” season finale.
Four days earlier, the music superstar will appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Per listings issued to television providers, Perry will be an interview guest on the May 16 “Ellen.” As of press time, she is the only guest announced for the May 16 episode.
“Ellen” listings, especially those not yet featured on the show’s official website, are subject to change. Headline Planet will provide an update in the event Perry’s performance is moved to a new date.
