Whether you’re a fan of Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez or both, you have reason to be excited.
The former officially confirmed details of a new single that will be arriving on May 11. The latter did not go as far as confirming a new single (or even new music), but she did hint that some sort of project is on the horizon.
— Cyrus discussed her new single “Malibu” as part of a Billboard cover story. The publication describes the song — which is the lead single from her forthcoming album — as a “breezy love song about [Liam] Hemsworth — gimmick-free pop-rock unlike anything she has recorded before.”
“I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song,” says Cyrus about the song, adding that she wrote the song while taking an Uber to her job on “The Voice.”
— Gomez, meanwhile, Tweeted that “Something new is coming.” She included a sign-up link for her e-mail list, noting that those who subscribe will be the “first to know” about the upcoming endeavor.
