Ratings: NBC’s “Great News” Sinks In Week Two

Bad news for NBC’s new comedy.

Airing against stronger competition and without “premiere week curiosity,” Tuesday’s pair of “Great News” episodes endured sharp week-to-week declines in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s first “Great News” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 3.70 million overall viewers in the 9-9:30PM half-hour. The second episode fell to a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 2.63 million.

Last week’s episodes averaged a 1.1 rating and 4.63 million viewers in the 9PM hour.

Unlike last week’s installments, this week’s “Great News” block faced competition from original editions of ABC’s 9PM comedies and CBS’ “Bull.”

“Great News” also received weaker lead-in support from “The Voice,” although its drop was proportionately larger than that of its lead-in. “The Voice,” which drew a 1.8 and 9.63 million last week, fell to a 1.6 and 8.71 million this week.

— “Great News” led into “Chicago Fire,” which drew a 1.2 and 5.94 million (versus a 1.3 and 6.91 million last week).
