Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN” Wins Another US Sales Race, Stays #1 On Billboard 200 (Update)

Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” spends a second week atop the US album charts.

Update: It’s official: Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” spends a second week atop the Billboard Top Album Sales and 200 charts.

It tops the former thanks to what Billboard reports as 87K pure US sales. With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “DAMN.” generated 238K in overall US consumption units. That figure keeps “DAMN.” atop the Billboard 200.

Drake’s “More Life” takes #2 on the Billboard 200 with 77K, while Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” earns #3 on the strength of 55K units.

Credited with 52K in opening week units, Incubus’ “8” debuts at #4 on the Billboard 200. Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” is #5 with 42K.

Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” predictably won a second straight US album sales race. It will also spend another week atop the Billboard 200 chart.

According to data from BuzzAngle Music and Hits Daily Double, “DAMN.” sold approximately 78,463 pure US copies during the April 21-27 tracking week. The figure will be enough for a convincing #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales.

With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “DAMN.” generated about 233,301 overall US consumption units. The consumption figure will allow Lamar’s album to remain a dominant #1 on the Billboard 200.

Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly from that reported by Hits. The discrepancy will not, however, be nearly enough to affect the overall outcome. “DAMN.” will indeed spend another week at #1.

Per BuzzAngle and Hits, here are the week’s top performers:

1) Kendrick Lamar – DAMN. – 78,463 sales
2) Incubus – 8 – 52,121
