Josh Turner’s “Hometown Girl” Reaches #1 At Country Radio

The “Deep South” single claims the top spot on this week’s Mediabase country radio chart.

Josh Turner’s “Hometown Girl” completes its ascent to the top of the country radio mountain.

The song, which was #3 last week, takes #1 on this week’s Mediabase country radio singles chart. It seizes the throne from Jason Aldean’s “Any Ol’ Barstool,” which falls to #4 after a single week on top.

“Hometown Girl” is Turner’s first #1 since 2010’s “All Over Me.”

In addition to claiming the greatest number of weekly chart points, “Hometown Girl” was the Mediabase country panel’s most-played song for the April 16-22 tracking week. It received 8,800 spins, besting last week’s count by a mammoth 1,287.

It takes second for weekly audience impressions, however. Its audience count of ~58.717 million trails the ~59.407 figure posted by Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road.”

“Body Like A Back Road” is #2 on the overall chart — and poised to hit #1 as soon as next week.

Up two places, Luke Combs’ “Hurricane” grabs #3 on the Mediabase chart. The aforementioned Aldean song is #4, while Kelsea Ballerini’s “Yeah Boy” slips one spot to #5.
