Early US Sales Projection Emerges For Incubus’ New Album “8”

Incubus’ “8” will be the week’s best-performing new release.

While it will not challenge Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” for #1 on next week’s charts, the new Incubus album will post respectable first-week numbers.

Based on opening day data, Hits Daily Double projects that “8” will sell 48-52,000 pure US copies. The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should yield a first-week consumption total of 50-55,000.

“8” should rank as the top new release for pure sales and overall consumption.

“8” is the band’s first studio album since 2011’s “If Not Now, When?,” which sold 80,000 opening week US copies. At the time, Billboard did not include data for track sales and streams in its charts.

The “8” project is represented at radio by lead single “Nimble Bastard,” which is #6 on Mediabase’s active rock chart.
