FOX’s “The X-Files” Returning During 2017-18 Season

FOX finally confirms plans for another round of “X-Files” episodes.

FOX’s revival of “The X-Files” ran — and achieved solid ratings — during the 2015-16 season.

The network has finally confirmed plans for more episodes.

According to FOX, the beloved series will return for a ten-episode season. Production will begin this summer, and the episodes will air during the 2017-18 season.

“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why THE X-FILES has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” said FOX’s David Madden. “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of THE X-FILES.”
