Update: Add Daddy Yankee to the lineup for the April 27 Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony.
Telemundo confirms that Daddy Yankee will be part of the previously announced “Despacito” performance. Telemundo actually deleted a press release saying Luis Fonsi would be performing the song on the show, but an article on the Billboard website confirms he will be taking the stage.
Fonsi will also receive the Spirit of Hope Award.

Luis Fonsi, the artist behind the global smash “Despacito,” is headed to the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Telemundo confirms that he will perform his hit during the April 27 broadcast. The performance will mark the song’s worldwide television premiere.
Fonsi will also receive the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award during the broadcast.
“Luis Fonsi is this year’s recipient of the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for his career-long pledge to children fighting childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases through his work with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” says the official press release.
“Being in the music business has allowed me to travel the world and meet some amazing people,” notes Fonsi. “But nothing compares to the brave children I have met at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They are so courageous as they fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases.”
The Spirit Of Hope Award was created in honor of Selena. It is awarded based on an artist’s philanthropic and humanitarian work.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony airs at 8PM ET/7PM CT on April 27.
