Hot 100: Harry Styles’ “Sign Of The Times” Debuts At #4

Harry Styles’ first solo single debuts near the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

Based on its first full week of sales, streaming and radio activity, Harry Styles’ “Sign Of The Times” earns a prominent position on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Sign Of The Times” takes #4 on the chart.

The single, which is the One Direction member’s first solo release, fared well in all three component areas — sales, streams and radio activity — that determine position on the Hot 100.

Its sales figure (142,000 first-week paid US downloads, according to Billboard) was enough for #1 on the weekly Digital Song Sales chart.

In comparison to past debuts from One Direction originals, “Sign Of The Times” starts below ZAYN’s “Pillowtalk” (#1) but above Niall Horan’s “This Town” (#63 after an abbreviated week of release, #25 following its first full week).

Louis Tomlinson’s first post-One Direction release was a collaboration with Steve Aoki; it debuted at #52 on the chart (after arriving shortly into the official sales and streaming tracking week). Liam Payne has yet to release his first single.
