Mastodon Wins US Album Sales Race, But Drake’s “More Life” Stays #1 On Billboard 200

For a second straight week, we have a split-chart scenario when it comes to the US albums market.

Mastodon’s “Emperor Of Sand” wins the US album sales race, but Drake’s “More Life” retains the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.

Thanks to what Billboard reports as 41K in pure US album sales, “Emperor Of Sand” debuts at #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart.

With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “Emperor” generated 43K in total first week consumption units. The count is only enough for #7 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“More Life,” which generated 136K in weekly consumption, tops that listing for a third straight week.

Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” holds at #2 with 80K, while Kodak Black’s “Painting Pictures” takes #3 on the strength of its 71K units.

Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” (#4, 48K units) and “Beauty And The Beast” (#5, 46K units) complete the Top 5.
