Harry Styles’ “Sign Of The Times” Set To Receive Big First Day Support At US Pop Radio

Harry Styles’ eagerly anticipated solo single “Sign Of The Times” arrives Friday, and US pop radio stations will provide listeners with many opportunities to hear it.

Many (if not all) iHeartMedia pop stations plan to play the song every hour for much of Friday.

While they may not play it hourly, non-iHeartMedia stations are also expected to give the song a healthy amount of spins on its first day in the market.

The hefty launch day support essentially guarantees “Sign Of The Times” a Top 40 position (if not Top 30 position) on this week’s pop radio airplay chart.

Styles will be the third One Direction member/alum to receive hourly first day support at US radio. ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK,” I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and “Still Got Time”* and Niall Horan’s “This Town”* also received “on the hour” support on their first days of release.

*Editor’s Note: “Still Got Time” premiered in the evening and only received “on the hour” support on its first night. “This Town” premiered — and began receiving the support — at mid-day.
