Ratings: “The Big Bang Theory” Set A New Series Low, Still Won Thursday

FOX’s “Empire” was not the only broadcast network juggernaut to hit a series low this week.

CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” also posted its lowest adults 18-49 rating on record.

According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Thursday’s “The Big Bang Theory” drew a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 12.78 million overall viewers. The numbers trail the 2.8 rating and 13.08 million viewer mark garnered by last week’s episode.

The adults 18-49 represents a new low for the series, which had never previously gone below the 2.8 that it hit three times this season and twice in its first season.

The viewership figure, on the other hand, remains millions above the show’s all-time low*.

Despite the series low distinction, “Big Bang” was still Thursday’s #1 show in adults 18-49. It was by far the night’s most-watched program.

— CBS’ Thursday lineup also included “The Great Indoors” (1.4, 6.82 million), “Mom” (1.2, 7.03 million), “Life In Pieces” (1.1, 5.59 million), and “The Amazing Race” (0.9, 4.30 million).
