Drake’s “More Life” Wins US Sales Race, Sets Streaming Record, Tops Billboard 200

Drake’s “More Life” predictably won the opening week US sales race — and claims #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

Thanks to the sum of that opening week sales figure, respectable track sales and record-setting streaming, “More Life” also takes #1 on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.

“More Life” takes #1 on the pure sales chart thanks to what Billboard reports as 226K in opening week US sales.

With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “More Life” generated 505K opening week units. The figure, which is the best for an album since Drake’s own “Views” launched with 1.04 million, easily results in a #1 debut on the Billboard 200.

Billboard adds that “More Life” generated a record-setting 385 million track streams, accounting for nearly 260K opening week TEA units.

Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” drops to #2 on the Billboard 200 after two weeks on top. Rick Ross’ “Rather You Than Me” debuts at #3 with 106K units, while “Beauty And The Beast” rises to #4 with 99K units.

Depeche Mode’s new “Spirit” starts at #5 with 64K.
