“Beauty And The Beast” Wins Second US Weekend Box Office; “Power Rangers” Debuts At #2

“Beauty And The Beast” predictably topped a second straight US weekend box office.

According to studio estimates, the smash hit film grossed $88.3 million in its second weekend of release. The count, which brings the film’s cumulative total to $317.0 million, convincingly ranks as this weekend’s best.

The new “Saban’s Power Rangers” takes #2 with a very solid $40.5 million.

“Kong: Skull Island” falls to #3 with $14.4 million (cume now $133.5 million), while “Life” debuts at #4 on the strength of its $12.6 million in first weekend receipts.

Down two places, “Logan” grabs #5 with $10.1 million (cume now $201.5 million).

“CHiPs,” the third of this week’s major new releases, arrives at #7. It grossed a modest $7.6 million this weekend.
