It may not have won critical acclaim, but Nickelback’s 2005 album “All The Right Reasons” proved incredibly resonant with music fans.
It hit #1 on the Billboard 200. It yielded hit singles like “Photograph,” “Far Away,” and “Rockstar.”
It also attained diamond (10x platinum) status in the United States.
According to the RIAA, the album earned the certification on March 3, 2017*. The award confirms 10 million units, with each unit equal to either 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.
“All The Right Reasons” is one of four Nickelback albums to carry multi-platinum status in the US. “Silver Side Up” is 6x platinum, while the “Long Road” and “Dark Horse” are each 3x platinum.
Fellow Nickelback albums “The State” and “Here And Now” both hold platinum certifications.
*Editor’s Note: While the RIAA database explicitly identifies “All The Right Reasons” as diamond, it interestingly does not reveal a retroactive 9x platinum certification. The database shows the album moving straight from 8x platinum to 10x platinum status. This is likely a technical glitch (as opposed to a sign that “All The Right Reasons” is actually only 9x platinum), but we felt it was worth acknowledging.
