Ratings: “Saturday Night Live” Falls, Remains Solid For Octavia Spencer, Father John Misty Episode

From a ratings standpoint, this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” was no match for the mammoth previous episode.

It still posted very solid numbers.

Citing metered market data, NBC says this weekend’s “SNL” drew a 5.2 overnight household rating. The episode, which featured host Octavia Spencer and musical guest Father John Misty, drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.

While down sharply from the 7.2 overnight household rating and 3.6 local adults 18-49 rating drawn by the previous episode (host Alec Baldwin, musical guest Ed Sheeran on February 11), the numbers are good by typical standards.

The household and adults 18-49 ratings represent gains of 30% and 21%, respectively, from the show’s averages last March.

It was the night’s #1 broadcast network show in households and adults 18-49.

“SNL” returns next week with host Scarlett Johansson and musical guest Lorde.
