Linkin Park & Kiiara’s “Heavy” Receiving Notable Early Airplay At Alternative & Pop Radio

Linkin Park’s “Heavy (featuring kiiara)” arrived Thursday, and it is already receiving a considerable amount of support at alternative and pop radio.

“Heavy” had amassed 177 alternative radio spins by the close of Friday. The count positions the Linkin Park-kiiara collaboration at #47 on Mediabase’s building alternative chart.

According to Mediabase, leading early supporters include Miami’s 104.3 The Shark (15 spins in the first two days), Tampa’s 97X (14 spins), Buffalo’s 103.3 The Edge (13 spins), Honolulu’s Star 101.9 (12 spins), Burlington’s 99.9 The Buzz (9 spins), and Gainesville’s 100.5 The Buzz (9 spins).

While not at the very top of the leaderboard, influential Los Angeles stations KROQ (7 spins) and Alt 98.7 (5 spins) have also shown early support.

A handful of other alternative stations (in big and small markets) have played the song several times since its release.

“Heavy” is not yet in the building Top 50 at pop radio, but it is still receiving a healthy amount of support from that format.

Dallas’ 106.1 KISS and Austin’s 96.7 KISS, the top two pop supporters, each played the song 15 times during its first two days of release. Los Angeles’ 97.1 AMP had offered 14 spins by the end of Friday, while Chicago’s B96 and Raleigh’s G105 each contributed 11 spins.

Severl other pop stations, including high-profile channels like Philadelphia’s Q102, San Diego’s ENERGY 103.7, Dallas’ 103.7 AMP, New York’s Z100, and Detroit’s 98.7 AMP, each played the song at least 8 times within the two-day window.

Many others offered as many as 7 spins across Thursday and Friday.
