DJ Khaled Addresses Use Of “Miami” During NBA All-Star Saturday Night Performance

Shortly after participating in a charity shootout for the Sager Strong Foundation, hip-hop artist/producer DJ Khaled took the stage for a performance at NBA All-Star Saturday Night.

The performance included some of his own hits, as well as Fat Joe & Remy Ma’s “All The Way Up” (with an appearance by both).

It was not the songs, however, that many social media users were discussing during and after his set. Rather, it was his curious decision to shout out “Miami” on multiple occasions while performing at an event in New Orleans.

At one point, he actually exclaimed, “Miami, what’s up!?”

It certainly seemed like Khaled forgot he was in New Orleans and mistakenly shouted out the wrong city.

As talk of the “Miami” reference started to go viral, Khaled offered a response on Twitter.

“Bless up New Orleans ! Bless up my Miami uknow how shout my home ! Thank you!For letting us perform at the Allstar !God is the greatest!,” wrote Khaled.

Khaled does call Miami home, and he does frequently make (and repeat) shout-outs during his live performances. “Miami” is not, however, known for being one of his go-to references — certainly not to the extent of “Another One” or “We The Best Music.”
