Ratings: “24: Legacy” Premiere Comes In Low For Post-Super Bowl, High For “24”

On the one hand, it aired following an overtime game that featured the most incredible comeback in Super Bowl history.

On the other hand, it did not start until 11PM ET. The start time was the third-latest ever for a post-Super Bowl program.

Airing with the combination of those factors, the premiere of “24: Legacy” was the lowest-rated Super Bowl lead-out least 1990 (in terms of live+same-day adults 18-49 rating). It was the least-watched since the 2003 “Alias” broadcast (17.4 million).

FOX Sports says the broadcast drew a 6.1 adults 18-49 rating and 17.6 million total viewers.

The viewership figure does, however, rank as a “24” franchise high. The adults 18-49 rating, meanwhile, is the best posted by a series premiere since “2 Broke Girls” opened with a 7.1 in 2011.

This year’s Super Bowl averaged 113.7 million total viewers.
