Kehlani’s “SweetSexySavage” is pacing for impressive debut positions on this week’s Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.
According to Hits Daily Double, Kehlani’s debut album is on track to sell 31-35,000 pure US albums this week. The tally should be enough for a Top 4 bow on Top Album Sales. Only Brantley Gilbert’s “The Devil Don’t Sleep” (~67-72,000), Migos’ “Culture” (~38-42,000) and “NOW 61” (~35-39,000) are expected to sell more copies this week.
The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should yield a first-week US consumption total of 50-55,000 units. Such a figure would earn “SweetSexySavage” a Top 4 position on the Billboard 200 consumption chart. Only “Culture” (~108-113,000) and “The Devil Don’t Sleep” (~76-81,000) are tracking for definitively better consumption totals, while The Weeknd’s “Starboy” is projected for a similar 50-55,000. No other album is expected to break 40,000 in weekly consumption units.
While “SweetSexySavage” is Kehlani’s first full-length studio album, it will not be her first release to chart on the Billboard 200. Mixtape “You Should Be Here” reached #36 in 2015.
