Featuring host Aziz Ansari and musical guest Big Sean, this week’s “Saturday Night Live” posted big week-to-week ratings gains.
Citing metered market data, NBC says the episode drew a 5.1 overnight household rating. It posted a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.
The numbers markedly top the 4.3 household rating and 2.0 local adults 18-49 rating drawn by last week’s Felicity Jones-Sturgill Simpson episode.
They actually rank as the show’s best marks since the Dave Chappelle-A Tribe Called Quest episode (6.2 household rating, 3.9 adults 18-49 rating), which aired in the immediate aftermath of the election.
The political landscape likely benefited this week’s episode as well; it followed Friday’s presidential inauguration.
