Maroon 5 & Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Wanna Know” Leading Race For #1 At Pop Radio

Following the first two days of the January 8-14 tracking week, Maroon 5’s “Don’t Wanna Know (featuring Kendrick Lamar)” is leading the race for #1 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

“Don’t Wanna Know” received 4,910 spins during the week’s first two days. The tally positions “Don’t Wanna Know” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side (featuring Nicki Minaj),” which spent the past five weeks at #1, is #2 on the building chart. It received 4,891 spins during the week’s first two days.

With the week still young and the margin still very small, it is far too early to guarantee “Don’t Wanna Know” will dethrone “Side To Side.”

Of further note: Alessia Cara’s “Scars To Your Beautiful” is also within striking distance of the top spot. Currently #3 on the building chart, it received 4,794 spins during the week’s first two days.

“Don’t Wanna Know” does, however, have a momentum advantage to go along with its spin lead. Its two-day spin count is up by 15.1% from the mark at this point last week. “Side To Side” is up only 5.9%, while “Scars To Your Beautiful” is 12.0% ahead.

A multi-format hit, “Don’t Wanna Know” is the reigning #1 at hot adult contemporary radio.
