“The Hamilton Mixtape” Wins US Album Sales Race, Claims #1 On Billboard 200

Friday, BuzzAngle reported that “The Hamilton Mixtape” was the December 2-8 tracking week’s best-selling and most-consumed album.

Sunday, Billboard confirmed the news.

“The Hamilton Mixtape” debuts at #1 on Top Album Sales with what Billboard reports as 169K pure US album sales. The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) yields a total of 187K consumption units, which earns the album #1 on the Billboard 200.

The Weeknd’s “Starboy” takes #2 on the Billboard 200 with 151K units, while Pentatonix’s “A Pentatonix Christmas” grabs #3 on the strength of 128K.

The Rolling Stones’ “Blue & Lonesome” debuts at #4 with 123K units (120K from pure sales). Credited with 101K units, Childish Gambino’s “Awaken, My Love!” enters at #5.

Other notable debuts: Grace VanderWaal’s “Perfectly Imperfect” EP (#9, 52K units) and Kane Brown’s self-titled album (#10, 51K units).
