Ratings: “Westworld” Sets Viewership High For Season Finale

The “Westworld” season finale did not post a gain in adults 18-49, but it did rise in the category more important to the subscription-based HBO: total viewership.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Westworld” season finale drew a 1.02 adults 18-49 rating and 2.24 million total viewers. The adults 18-49 rating matches that posted by last week’s episode, while the viewership sum bests the penultimate broadcast’s 2.09 million.

This week’s “Westworld” was the most-watched episode yet on a live+same-day basis.

While not – at least not yet – a mammoth hit, “Westworld” has performed very well by reasonable cable standards. It has also grown consistently over the past month, suggesting the strong word-of-mouth and vast online buzz is translating into live+same-day viewership.

“Westworld” also receives significant spikes from DVR, On Demand and Streaming. It has already been renewed for a second season, which is expected to premiere in 2018.

— “Westworld” led into “Divorce,” which drew a 0.21 rating and 0.64 million total viewers (versus 0.25/0.63 million last week).
