It’s technically an E! series, but the Bravo simulcast of Sunday’s “Mariah’s World” premiere drew a considerably larger audience.
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s episode drew a 0.50 adults 18-49 rating and 1.24 million total viewers on Bravo. The E! version only drew a 0.28 adults 18-49 rating and 0.63 million total viewers.
The likely cause? The Bravo version of “Mariah’s World” aired out of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” which drew a 1.11 adults 18-49 rating and 2.74 million total viewers (way better than the 8PM E! show). A non-trivial percentage of those viewers likely stayed around for “Mariah.”
While one might be inclined to say “viewers are viewers” (especially since Bravo and E! are sister networks), there is a downside to the Bravo/E! split: 10PM E! series “The Royals” received less of a lead-in boost. Airing out of the lower-rated “Mariah’s World” broadcast, it only managed a 0.26 adults 18-49 rating and 0.61 million total viewers.
If everyone who watched the Bravo version of “Mariah’s World” had instead tuned into the E! version, lead-out “The Royals” may have performed better.
