Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” Returns To #1 On US iTunes Single Sales Chart Following AMAs, 60 Minutes

Benefiting from buzz over the new album and exposure during the American Music Awards and a “60 Minutes” special, Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” reclaims #1 on the US iTunes single sales chart.

It seizes the throne from Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles (featuring Gucci Mane),” which has ruled since last week. The hit, which is expected to remain #1 on the overall Billboard Hot 100, is now #2 on iTunes.

The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey)” follows at #3 on the iTunes chart. While it has not markedly risen from its pre-AMAs position (it was #4 below John Mayer’s declining “Love On The Weekend”), it is selling at a much faster pace than it was prior to Sunday’s performance.

Maroon 5’s “Don’t Wanna Know (featuring Kendrick Lamar)” (#4) and The Weeknd’s “Starboy (featuring Daft Punk)” (#5) complete the Top 5. Both were performed during Sunday’s AMAs; the former is also benefiting from a $0.69 discount.

Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side (featuring Nicki Minaj)” (#6), Niall Horan’s “This Town” (#7), DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You (featuring Justin Bieber),” (#8), “Love On The Weekend” (#9), and Hailee Steinfeld & Grey’s “Starving (featuring Zedd)” (#10) form the balance of the Top 10. “Side To Side,” “This Town,” and “Let Me Love You” were performed during the AMAs; “This Town,” “Let Me Love You,” and “Starving” are also discounted to $0.69.

iTunes positions for other songs performed during the AMAs:
11) twenty one pilots’ “Heathens”
14) Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy” (discounted)
17) John Legend’s “Love Me Now”
32) Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” (discounted)
35) Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better”
36) James Bay’s “Let It Go”
41) DJ Khaled’s “Do You Mind”
47) Fifth Harmony’s “That’s My Girl”
55) Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side” (clean version)
58) twenty one pilots’ “Stressed Out”
(Neither Green Day’s “Bang Bang” nor any of Sting’s songs are currently in the Top 200)
