Metallica’s “Hardwired … To Self-Destruct” Claims #1 On US iTunes Sales Chart; Bruno Mars, Miranda Lambert Follow

A handful of high-profile new albums just debuted on the US iTunes store.

As of 2:20AM ET Friday morning, none is selling as well as Metallica’s “Hardwired … To Self-Destruct.”

The deluxe version of the band’s first studio album since 2008 is currently #1 on the US iTunes album sales chart.

It is one of four new releases currently in the Top 5. Bruno Mars’ new “24K Magic” is #2, while Miranda Lambert’s debuting “The Weight Of These Wings” is #3.

A Tribe Called Quest’s holdover “We Got It From Here … Thank You 4 Your Service” is #4, while Highly Suspect’s new “The Boy Who Died Wolf” is #5.

The concert video version of Little Mix’s new “Glory Days” (#6), the standard version of “Hardwired” (#7), Pentatonix’s “A Pentatonix Christmas” (#8), DNCE’s new “DNCE” (#9), and dodie’s new “Intertwined” EP (#10) form the balance of the Top 10.

Sales projections for the week’s key new releases should emerge in the next few days.
